Job 9

JOBU si dahùn o si wipe,

Then Job answered and said,

Emi mọ̀ pe bẹ̃ni nitõtọ! bawo li enia yio ha ti ṣe alare niwaju Ọlọrun?

I know it is so of a truth: but how should man be just with God?

Bi o ba ṣepe yio ba a jà, on kì yio lè idá a lohùn kan ninu ẹgbẹrun ọ̀ran.

If he will contend with him, he cannot answer him one of a thousand.

Ọlọgbọ́n-ninu ati alagbara ni ipá li on; tali o ṣagidi si i, ti o si gbè fun u ri?

He is wise in heart, and mighty in strength: who hath hardened himself against him, and hath prospered?

Ẹniti o ṣi okè ni idi, ti nwọn kò si mọ̀: ti o tari wọn ṣubu ni ibinu rẹ̀.

Which removeth the mountains, and they know not: which overturneth them in his anger.

Ti o mì ilẹ aiye tìti kuro ni ipò rẹ̀, ọwọ̀n rẹ̀ si mì tìti.

Which shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble.

Ti o paṣẹ fun õrùn, ti on kò si là, ti o si dí irawọ̀ mọ́.

Which commandeth the sun, and it riseth not; and sealeth up the stars.

On nikanṣoṣo li o na oju ọrun lọ, ti o si nrìn lori ìgbì okun.

Which alone spreadeth out the heavens, and treadeth upon the waves of the sea.

Ẹniti o da irawọ̀ Arketuru, Orioni ati Pleiade ati iyàra pipọ ti gusu.

Which maketh Arcturus, Orion, and Pleiades, and the chambers of the south.

Ẹniti nṣe ohun ti o tobi jù awari lọ, ani ohun iyanu laini iye.

Which doeth great things past finding out; yea, and wonders without number.

Kiyesi i, on kọja lọ li ẹ̀ba ọdọ mi, emi kò si ri i, o si kọja siwaju, bẹ̃li emi kò ri oju rẹ̀.

Lo, he goeth by me, and I see him not: he passeth on also, but I perceive him not.

Kiyesi i, o jãgbà lọ, tani yio fa a pada? tani yio bi i pe, kini iwọ nṣe nì?

Behold, he taketh away, who can hinder him? who will say unto him, What doest thou?

Ọlọrun kò ni fà ibinu rẹ̀ sẹhin, awọn oniranlọwọ ìgberaga a si tẹriba labẹ rẹ̀.

If God will not withdraw his anger, the proud helpers do stoop under him.

Ambọtori emi ti emi o fi dá a lohùn, ti emi o fi má ṣa ọ̀rọ awawì mi ba a ṣawiye?

How much less shall I answer him, and choose out my words to reason with him?

Bi o tilẹ ṣepe mo ṣe olododo, emi kò gbọdọ̀ da a lohùn, ṣugbọn emi o gbadura ẹ̀bẹ mi sọdọ onidajọ mi.

Whom, though I were righteous, yet would I not answer, but I would make supplication to my judge.

Bi emi ba si kepè e, ti on si da mi lohùn, emi kì yio si gbagbọ pe, on ti feti si ohùn mi.

If I had called, and he had answered me; yet would I not believe that he had hearkened unto my voice.

Nitoripe o fi ẹ̀fufu nla ṣẹ mi tutu, o sọ ọgbẹ mi di pipọ lainidi.

For he breaketh me with a tempest, and multiplieth my wounds without cause.

On kì yio jẹ ki emi ki o fà ẹmi mi, ṣugbọn o fi ohun kikorò kún u fun mi.

He will not suffer me to take my breath, but filleth me with bitterness.

Bi mo ba sọ ti agbara, wò o! alagbara ni, tabi niti idajọ, tani yio da akoko fun mi lati rò?

If I speak of strength, lo, he is strong: and if of judgment, who shall set me a time to plead?

Bi mo tilẹ da ara mi lare, ẹnu ara mi ni yio dá mi lẹbi; bi mo wipe, olododo li emi, yio si fi mi hàn ni ẹni-òdi.

If I justify myself, mine own mouth shall condemn me: if I say, I am perfect, it shall also prove me perverse.

Olõtọ ni mo ṣe, sibẹ emi kò kiyesi ẹmi mi, ìwa mi li emi iba ma gàn.

Though I were perfect, yet would I not know my soul: I would despise my life.

Ohun kanna ni, nitorina ni emi ṣe sọ ọ: on a pa ẹni-otitọ ati enia buburu pẹlu.

This is one thing, therefore I said it, He destroyeth the perfect and the wicked.

Bi jamba ba pa ni lojijì, yio rẹrin idanwo alaiṣẹ̀.

If the scourge slay suddenly, he will laugh at the trial of the innocent.

A fi aiye le ọwọ enia buburu; o si bò awọn onidajọ rẹ̀ li oju; bi kò ba ri bẹ̃, njẹ tani?

The earth is given into the hand of the wicked: he covereth the faces of the judges thereof; if not, where, and who is he?

Njẹ nisisiyi ọjọ mi yara jù onṣẹ lọ, nwọn fò lọ, nwọn kò ri ire.

Now my days are swifter than a post: they flee away, they see no good.

Nwọn kọja lọ bi ọkọ-ẽsú ti nsure lọ; bi idì ti o nyara si ohun ọdẹ.

They are passed away as the swift ships: as the eagle that hasteth to the prey.

Bi emi ba wipe, emi o gbagbe aro ibinujẹ mi, emi o fi ọkàn lelẹ̀, emi o si rẹ̀ ara mi lẹkun.

If I say, I will forget my complaint, I will leave off my heaviness, and comfort myself:

Ẹ̀ru ibinujẹ mi gbogbo bà mi, emi mọ̀ pe iwọ kì yio mu mi bi alaiṣẹ̀.

I am afraid of all my sorrows, I know that thou wilt not hold me innocent.

Bi o ba ṣepe enia buburu li emi, njẹ kili emi nṣe lãlã lasan si!

If I be wicked, why then labour I in vain?

Bi mo tilẹ fi omi òjo didì wẹ̀ ara mi, ti mo fi omi-aró wẹ̀ ọwọ mi mọ́,

If I wash myself with snow water, and make my hands never so clean;

Sibẹ iwọ o gbe mi bọ̀ inu ihò ọ̀gọdọ, aṣọ ara mi yio sọ mi di ẹni-irira.

Yet shalt thou plunge me in the ditch, and mine own clothes shall abhor me.

Nitori on kì iṣe enia bi emi, ti emi o fi da a lohùn ti awa o fi pade ni idajọ.

For he is not a man, as I am, that I should answer him, and we should come together in judgment.

Bẹ̃ni kò si alatunṣe kan lagbedemeji wa, ti iba fi ọwọ rẹ̀ le awa mejeji lara.

Neither is there any daysman betwixt us, that might lay his hand upon us both.

Ki on sa mu ọ̀pa rẹ̀ kuro lara mi, ki ìbẹru rẹ̀ ki o má si ṣe daiya fò mi.

Let him take his rod away from me, and let not his fear terrify me:

Nigbana ni emi iba sọ̀rọ, emi kì ba si bẹ̀ru rẹ̀; ṣugbọn kò ri bẹ̃ fun mi.

Then would I speak, and not fear him; but it is not so with me.
