Ecclesiastes 2

EMI wi ninu mi pe, wá na! emi o fi iré-ayọ̀ dan ọ wò, nitorina mã jẹ afẹ! si kiyesi i, asan li eyi pẹlu!

I said in mine heart, Go to now, I will prove thee with mirth, therefore enjoy pleasure: and, behold, this also is vanity.

Emi wi fun ẹrin pe, Iwère ni ọ: ati fun iré-ayọ̀ pe kili o nṣe?

I said of laughter, It is mad: and of mirth, What doeth it?

Mo rò ninu aiya mi lati fi ọti-waini mu ara mi le, ṣugbọn emi nfi ọgbọ́n tọ́ aiya mi: on ati fi ọwọ le iwère, titi emi o fi ri ohun ti o dara fun ọmọ enia, ti nwọn iba mã ṣe labẹ ọrun ni iye ọjọ aiye wọn gbogbo.

I sought in mine heart to give myself unto wine, yet acquainting mine heart with wisdom; and to lay hold on folly, till I might see what was that good for the sons of men, which they should do under the heaven all the days of their life.

Mo ṣe iṣẹ nla fun ara mi; mo kọ́ ile pupọ fun ara mi; mo gbin ọgbà-ajara fun ara mi.

I made me great works; I builded me houses; I planted me vineyards:

Mo ṣe ọgbà ati agbala daradara fun ara mi, mo si gbin igi oniruru eso sinu wọn.

I made me gardens and orchards, and I planted trees in them of all kind of fruits:

Mo ṣe adagun pupọ, lati ma bomi lati inu wọn si igbo ti o nmu igi jade wá:

I made me pools of water, to water therewith the wood that bringeth forth trees:

Mo ni iranṣẹ-kọnrin ati iranṣẹ-birin, mo si ni ibile; mo si ni ini agbo malu ati agutan nlanla jù gbogbo awọn ti o wà ni Jerusalemu ṣaju mi.

I got me servants and maidens, and had servants born in my house; also I had great possessions of great and small cattle above all that were in Jerusalem before me:

Mo si kó fadaka ati wura jọ ati iṣura ti ọba ati ti igberiko, mo ni awọn olorin ọkunrin ati olorin obinrin, ati didùn inu ọmọ enia, aya ati obinrin pupọ.

I gathered me also silver and gold, and the peculiar treasure of kings and of the provinces: I gat me men singers and women singers, and the delights of the sons of men, as musical instruments, and that of all sorts.

Bẹ̃ni mo tobi, mo si pọ̀ si i jù gbogbo awọn ti o wà ṣaju mi ni Jerusalemu: ọgbọ́n mi si mbẹ pẹlu mi.

So I was great, and increased more than all that were before me in Jerusalem: also my wisdom remained with me.

Ohunkohun ti oju mi fẹ, emi kò pa a mọ́ fun wọn; emi kò si dù aiya mi li ohun ayò kan; nitoriti aiya mi yọ̀ ninu iṣẹ mi gbogbo; eyi si ni ipin mi lati inu gbogbo lãla mi.

And whatsoever mine eyes desired I kept not from them, I withheld not my heart from any joy; for my heart rejoiced in all my labour: and this was my portion of all my labour.

Nigbati mo wò gbogbo iṣẹ ti ọwọ mi ṣe, ati lãla ti mo ṣe lãla lati ṣe: si kiyesi i, asan ni gbogbo rẹ̀ ati imulẹmofo, ko si si ère kan labẹ õrùn.

Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labour that I had laboured to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun.

Mo si yi ara mi pada lati wò ọgbọ́n, ati isinwin ati iwère: nitoripe kili ọkunrin na ti mbọ lẹhin ọba yio le ṣe? eyi ti a ti ṣe tan nigbani ni yio ṣe.

And I turned myself to behold wisdom, and madness, and folly: for what can the man do that cometh after the king? even that which hath been already done.

Nigbana ni mo ri pe ọgbọ́n ta wère yọ, to iwọn bi imọlẹ ti ta òkunkun yọ.

Then I saw that wisdom excelleth folly, as far as light excelleth darkness.

Oju ọlọgbọ́n mbẹ li ori rẹ̀; ṣugbọn aṣiwère nrìn li òkunkun: emitikalami si mọ̀ pẹlu pe, iṣe kanna li o nṣe gbogbo wọn.

The wise man's eyes are in his head; but the fool walketh in darkness: and I myself perceived also that one event happeneth to them all.

Nigbana ni mo wi li aiya mi pe, Bi o ti nṣe si aṣiwère, bẹ̃li o si nṣe si emitikalami; nitori kili emi si ṣe gbọ́n jù? Nigbana ni mo wi li ọkàn mi pe, asan li eyi pẹlu.

Then said I in my heart, As it happeneth to the fool, so it happeneth even to me; and why was I then more wise? Then I said in my heart, that this also is vanity.

Nitoripe iranti kò si fun ọlọgbọ́n pẹlu aṣiwère lailai; ki a wò o pe, bi akoko ti o kọja, bẹ̃li ọjọ ti mbọ, a o gbagbe gbogbo rẹ̀. Ọlọgbọ́n ha ṣe nkú bi aṣiwère?

For there is no remembrance of the wise more than of the fool for ever; seeing that which now is in the days to come shall all be forgotten. And how dieth the wise man? as the fool.

Nitorina mo korira ìwa-laiye: nitoripe iṣẹ ti a ṣe labẹ õrun: ibi ni fun mi: nitoripe asan ni gbogbo rẹ̀ ati imulẹmofo.

Therefore I hated life; because the work that is wrought under the sun is grievous unto me: for all is vanity and vexation of spirit.

Nitõtọ mo korira gbogbo lãla mi ti mo ṣe labẹ õrùn: nitoriti emi o fi i silẹ fun enia ti mbọ̀ lẹhin mi.

Yea, I hated all my labour which I had taken under the sun: because I should leave it unto the man that shall be after me.

Tali o si mọ̀ bi ọlọgbọ́n ni yio ṣe tabi aṣiwère? sibẹ on ni yio ṣe olori iṣẹ mi gbogbo ninu eyi ti mo ṣe lãla, ati ninu eyi ti mo fi ara mi hàn li ọlọgbọ́n labẹ õrùn. Asan li eyi pẹlu.

And who knoweth whether he shall be a wise man or a fool? yet shall he have rule over all my labour wherein I have laboured, and wherein I have shewed myself wise under the sun. This is also vanity.

Nitorina mo kirilọ lati mu aiya mi ṣí kuro ninu gbogbo lãla mi ti mo ṣe labẹ õrùn.

Therefore I went about to cause my heart to despair of all the labour which I took under the sun.

Nitoriti enia kan mbẹ, iṣẹ ẹniti o wà li ọgbọ́n ati ni ìmọ, ati ni iṣedẽde; sibẹ ẹniti kò ṣe lãla ninu rẹ̀ ni yio fi i silẹ fun ni ipin rẹ̀. Eyi pẹlu asan ni ati ibi nlanla.

For there is a man whose labour is in wisdom, and in knowledge, and in equity; yet to a man that hath not laboured therein shall he leave it for his portion. This also is vanity and a great evil.

Nitoripe kili enia ni ninu gbogbo lãla rẹ̀ ti o fi nṣe lãla labẹ õrùn?

For what hath man of all his labour, and of the vexation of his heart, wherein he hath laboured under the sun?

Nitoripe ọjọ rẹ̀ gbogbo, ikãnu ni, ati iṣẹ rẹ̀, ibinujẹ, nitõtọ aiya rẹ̀ kò simi li oru. Eyi pẹlu asan ni.

For all his days are sorrows, and his travail grief; yea, his heart taketh not rest in the night. This is also vanity.

Kò si ohun ti o dara fun enia jù ki o jẹ, ki o si mu ati ki o mu ọkàn rẹ̀ jadùn ohun rere ninu lãla rẹ̀. Eyi ni mo ri pẹlu pe, lati ọwọ Ọlọrun wá ni.

There is nothing better for a man, than that he should eat and drink, and that he should make his soul enjoy good in his labour. This also I saw, that it was from the hand of God.

Nitoripe tali o le jẹun, tabi tani pẹlu ti o le mọ̀ adùn jù mi lọ?

For who can eat, or who else can hasten hereunto, more than I?

Nitoripe Ọlọrun fun enia ti o tọ li oju rẹ̀ li ọgbọ́n, ati ìmọ ati ayọ̀: ṣugbọn ẹlẹṣẹ li o fi ìṣẹ́ fun, lati ma kó jọ ati lati ma tò jọ ki on ki o le ma fi fun ẹni rere niwaju Ọlọrun. Eyi pẹlu asan ni ati imulẹmofo.

For God giveth to a man that is good in his sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy: but to the sinner he giveth travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him that is good before God. This also is vanity and vexation of spirit.
